Choir left mic

Draft: not yet checked against the real setup

Short link: serve.vernonstake.org/s/choir-left

What it does

This microphone picks up the singers on the left side of the choir seats, so people on Zoom can hear them.

How it fits

It is one of two choir microphones. Its sound goes into the mixer, and from there to the chapel speakers and the broadcast computer.

Set it up

  1. Take the mic stand and the microphone out of the bin.
  2. Stand the mic stand at the front left of the choir seats.
  3. Open the legs all the way so the stand does not tip over.
  4. Clip the microphone onto the top of the stand. Point it at the choir.
  5. Plug the round end of the cable into the bottom of the microphone. Push until it clicks.
  6. Plug the other end into wall plate input 1 (TBD).
  7. Tape the cable to the floor wherever people will walk.

Check it works

  1. Ask someone at the mixer to watch channel 1 (TBD).
  2. Talk into the microphone in a normal voice.
  3. The light for channel 1 on the mixer should move. If it does, you are done.

Clean it up

  1. Unplug the cable from the wall plate. Pull on the plug, not the cable.
  2. Press the small button on the microphone end and unplug the cable.
  3. Wind the cable in loose loops, about the size of a dinner plate. Do not wrap it around your elbow.
  4. Take the microphone off the stand and put it in its pouch.
  5. Fold the mic stand.
  6. Put everything back in Audio bin A (TBD), and put the bin back where it is kept.
